Some of you guys are thinking about going fire so I thought I'd post what I use right now that lets me stay decently effective in MC, but allows me to play with fire when I feel like it.

My main point was to have the ability to roll ignites which is fun when grinding, and to up my fire crit/dmg just a tad. All the while I get to keep important frost talents like winter's chill/shatter/Ice barrier, the works. Sacrifices would be frost range, +dmg, and slight cast speed.

Let me know what you think, and if you plan on going fire at all, how you will approach it.

For the bosses, yea. For trash mobs, I shatter all the time. It takes a little bit of luck, but it happens quite often. Also, on AOE mobs, a quick nova + flamestrike is almost always a crit.

In general though, your'e right. I'm just not sure I'd want that 5 points spent anywhere else in the frost tree, maybe piercing ice. I do pvp/grind occasionally though, so I think I'll stick with shatter for the crit chance with my scorch.

Hara, I like your build, looks like fun. Maybe one day I'll get the balls to ditch ice barrier, but for now I use it far too much in everything I do. Combustion looks like a blast though.

Perhaps this would aid you quite a bit in your red hole in the ground experience. (MC)

You're 100% right on that, and I didn't realize that until I first used it. Nonetheless, killing mobs that fast with little mana loss is fun.
