I started out with a gun. When i was about lvl 24 i got a bow. I've had a bunch of people tell me that guns are better. People have also told me that bows are better. I'm wondering which is better. Guns or Bows?

whichever has the higher dps. the type of weapon does not matter for hunters. just the DPS. the bigger factor in choosing a weapon AFTER DPS is average damage. for pvp if you have 2 weapons of the same DPS you should take the weapon with higher average damage. this means your aimed shots and multishots will hit alot harder.

but to answer your question, it doesn't matter what type. although i stopped using a gun on my hunter when i was 15 or so because they were EXTREMELY annoying.

Also depends on your race, since Trolls now have the +5 to bows you'd wanna pick a bow over a gun for a troll.

Another thing to consider is your profession. If you're an engineer you can make your own guns (though usually you'll find better ones on the AH) and your own ammo instead of having to buy it.


I would suggest training up all three skills: bow, crossbow, and guns, and keeping them all relatively close to each other so you can use the best weapon you find available.
