OK here is my spec after lots and lots of trial and error...
0/31/20
For end game all arround purpose i dont think there is no better not even close.
Beast Master end game = pointless
- Not used in Instances PERIOD! and if it is, the pet will die only 2-3 secounds slower from the elit mobs thats the only difference, not worth 31 talent points id say.
- PVP wise biggest problem is simply- pet in combat = no retrap which in turns = Hunters death from warrior/pally/rogue
- Now for the 1-60 lvl grind Beast master is alot easier to grind with by a long shot. id highly suggest beast spec till 60.
Marksmanship vs survivalist-
Marks 31 talent point is 100 AP for 5 man group, yes its not as much dps for the individual. But in total of adding the addition 4 members extra damage will in turn out weigh the survival lightning reflex bonus given to only the hunter. As for Scatter Shot OMG a must for pvp, it allows 4 secounds of freedom = retrap/ gain distance/ dps additional target/ +many more
in the survival tree i do have deterance cause all in all with that you equal rogue/warrior in melea for 10 sec, very nice for emergancies.
I also have improved fiegn and since then its never been resisted by alliance and only 1 a week in MC if at all. I then also have imp traps= no resisting of traps EVER! and i have the improved trap duration which is also very nice for these heavy diminishing returns.
And there you have it folks, Nodoki's breackdown on what i think is best spec for end game hunters.

kept aimed and scatter obviously, put survival points into trap stuff, health buff, +15% agility and improved hamstring. I like survival, you have about 12 points to play with that you can use to help out where you need it. I didn't pick up the parry chance for whatever reason.

It's about time for me to respec and I'm torn with what I want to do:
1st there's your normal marksman build (right now I'm going for raid dps only)
http://www.wowhead.com/talent/?cxZViohthtG0VV
Then there's your survivalist build
http://www.wowhead.com/talent/?mZVqohtZI0qV0Ghx
I'm not set in stone on the talent placement for each one, but that's a general idea. Like Nodoki said, Marksmanship is better for the raid as a whole, but it doesn't stack, so if every hunter went Marksman then we'd end up with some wasted Trueshot Aura. If we could get the group leaders in raids to set it up right we could really get by with only 2-3 hunters having it, and the others going Survival if they wanted.
